Welcome to the Wight Surf History Website

The 'Wight Surf History' Project aims to document and celebrate 50 years of surfing on the Isle of Wight. Over the coming months this site will tell the story of how surfing arrived and evolved on the Isle of Wight, and the characters involved over the years. As part of the project a permanent exhibition of contemporary surf photography is on show at the 'Beach Bar' of the Sandpipers hotel, Freshwater Bay. Featuring the work of local artists & surfers Jason Swain & Paul Blackley.
